Mesones Street
Located in the heart of the city between Puerta Real and Plaza de la Trinidad, it was once the starting and ending point for stagecoaches that connected with coastal destinations such as Malaga and Almeria, as well as the Granada regions of the Lecrin Valley, Las Alpujarras and towns of the Vega de Granada.
Due to this important function, the street was filled with hospitality establishments that bore the name of “inn” followed by some other name. Over time, citizens come to know it as the “street of the inns”. Although today there is only one establishment called “Mesón del Toro” near the aforementioned Plaza, which has modified its focus of activity over the decades
